It leaves a bad taste in my mouth July 22, 2010 Laxnut 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this game for free and was kinda happy. I got it with a Xbox 360 messenger bundle which was a great deal. PGR3 was kinda fun. How bad could his be?
BAD!
Total waste of time even for a free game, I was disappointed. Playing it made me feel sad. If you go to fast past a motorcycle it does like a back flip and you get penalty time. Plus it is impossible to get first. I have never liked racing games and PGR3 made me start liking them. But this game SUCKS! If want a fun game, play Burnout Revenge or Forza Motorsport 3 just not this. THIS GAME BLOWS!
game review July 14, 2010 Alex M. Chettiath (Redlands, CA USA) awesome racing game. good game play. i like it and i like the graphics. got good camera angles and it feels like you are actually the driver.
Steep learning curve June 25, 2010 T. Hoffman (NJ, USA) PGR4 has difficult controls. Most of the cars either over- or under- steer. Even on normal difficulty the learning curve is steep - like Empire State Building steep. Games like Forza 2 and 3 have adjustable difficulty which allow you to start playing right away and make it harder as you get better but PGR4 is unforgiving from the get go. Other arcade-style racers at least make you feel like you're pretty good even though you can improve your lap times by 5-10 seconds. With most other games I'll place in the top 5 on my first race on normal difficulty and be in 1st place several races later. PGR4 lets you know you suck, even on normal difficulty. It took me about 10-15 races before I was able to come in higher than last place. I came in first once out of the 40 or so races I did.
At such a low price ($5.99 new is the current listing) you might as well pick it up, since it does have some redeeming qualities like the graphics, the music, and though I stopped playing it, I would imagine that if you can overcome the steep learning curve it's a fun game once you've gotten the hang of it.
just a few things May 31, 2010 J. Hunt (Thailand) I really enjoy the sim games like Forza and, let's say, NFS Shift. I enjoy customizing my vehicle to give it the edge over my competitors and then I enjoy winning. I want to like PGR4. I understand it is not a sim and that there are major differences here. There are many things to like about the game too. And maybe I am just a terrible racer, but when it comes to winning arcade, how on earth can you get platinum? Luck? I take the corners pretty well and I can't begin to catch up with the leader. Motorcycles are an interesting addition to the game.
Not Bad April 13, 2010 C. Chapman (MECHANICVILLE, NY, US) The game got here faster than expected, in really good condition, and everything was with it.
