OK, first things first, I'm sure you know this is NOT like old NFS games, which isn't a bad thing. The idea behind the game is great. A game where your "crew chief" gives you pointers and briefing before races, awesome, as always with NFS, great cars! And probably the best in car camera you will find until GT5 comes out (god only knows when!). Unfortunately, they throw loose, "squirrely" handling that throws even AWD and FWD cars into turns like they are a Ford SuperDuty. Really EA? I have never heard so many tire squeals in my life! The game follows similar NFS formats (somewhat similar to Carbon) with tiers, and you progress through the game.
This game, while made with the best of intentions, is competing with too many already great games. I am a fan of ALL racing games. EA and the NFS team had their hearts in the right place, but they fell short where it counts. If you own a 360, buy Forza 3, if you have a PS3, I don't know, freeze yourself till GT5 comes out. Save your hard earned cash on another racing game, or put it into a real car ;-)!

I have been playing the need for speed games since they were first introduced on the PSone. Over the years the game has evolved and changed. This iteration is by far the best it has been in recent history. It combines beautiful graphics with excellent physics. The tiered advancement system is nice, along with the fact coming in first is NOT the most important part of the race, but how you drive the race is. If you are looking for a game like NFS Carbon or Underground, look elsewhere. I'm glad they have finally stopped with the immature street racing games that have populated the series since last generation; this is by far a step up and in the right direction.

I agree with some of the other reviewers. I want the police chases and the racing though town. While this is a great game, it is not what I expect from the NFS franchise.

This is by far, one of the best games that I have ever experienced. The game has unbelievable graphics and the cockpit camera view makes it even more fun. I bought this game with the Microsoft Racing Wheel which I highly recommend because it really makes you feel like you are behind the wheel.

So, as you can see there are very nice cars in the game. And, like it's not good enough, the game allows you to customize the cars in hundreds of different ways. I recommend it completely.
