Scary. Challenging. Interesting. Great game! July 28, 2010 Seth W. Stair I am not a person who normally enjoys shooters, but of this class of games that are considered RPG-Shooters where you progress through a storyline and customize your gear I consider this the finest.
In space, the whispers remain. July 26, 2010 Daniel T. Davis (Ellensburg, WA USA) One thing I have to say, if you want raw terror, pick up something like Condemned: Criminal Origins, but if you want a scary and enjoyable experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the end of the game, then pick up Dead Space. I love horror games and this isn't the scariest ever, but damn it if isn't fun. Imagine Resident Evil 4&5 mashed together. Now throw them in space on a ship infested with something worse than zombies or the ganados. Now make your main character a super engineer from the FUTURE! Someone who you can actually get behind. Now you have the game.
With plot twists, intrigue and a whole lotta gore, this game is not for kids in any way. Way better when played in the dark and just as fun when played the second, third or even fourth (that's where I am) time around. Just don't pick it up if you didn't like RE5, a lot of what made that game great is here.
Fun and scary as hell in places June 2, 2010 K. McMillan (California) I loved playing this game. It was challenging, it was fun and in some places it was scary as hell!
Scary Even for the Most Hardened Gamer April 19, 2010 Elias Baer (U.S.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow. All I can say is wow. When I first bought this game, I played it for about an hour, thought it was awful then took it back. For weeks afterwards I felt guilty about not giving the game a fair chance. So the I went back to Gamestop and bought it again. This time I played it longer, and loved it. Great graphics, great voice overs, great aliens, and great scares. I have wanted A game this scary for the Xbox 360 for a long time. I do have to say though, this game has absolutely no replay value. It is fun the first time though. Give it a good chance. If you do not like horror games though, do not try it.
simply put... April 12, 2010 Michael A. Pugh The longer reviews really say it all. I work at Blockbuster (yeah i know :P) and i try to recomend this game as often as possible. One of the only games I became instantly die hard for. It really does draw in your attention once you play it for a little while in the dark. Story is awesome, creepy factor is extremely well put throughout the game. Can NOT wait for Dead Space 2, simply put...
