Product Description White plastic got you bummed out? Swap that eyesore Xbox 360 white case
for one of our Clear Ghost Cases. This is the most complete 360 case on
the market, with high quality plastic that gives the appearance of glass
(nobody wants murky clouded plastic cases)!
This is the only case in the world that comes with a clear DVD drive
lid, which actually lets you the DVD spinning while you play! Inside
this amazing kit is also a clear fan tunnel, without this vital piece
you wouldn't even be able to see your circuit board! This piece opens up
the whole inside of your console so you can see everything going on
inside (this also allows for your custom lighting kit to light up
everything in the case)!

Really nice product, came with everything except instuctions an the adapter to plug the led lights into the fan slot. Was forcesd to plug them into the dvd power supply which is what they were ment to hook up to on mine even though the box shows other wise. The appearance is awesome when its all together, but wouldn't recommend it to someone whos never done this type of installation before. The case doesn't exactly line up have to wiggle it to get it to do so.the dvd lid even when you have it completely lined up makes noise like crazy. kinda annoying if you ask me. wouldn't even attempt to stand it on its side with it making that noise might try an eat my games or something. the power button doesn't completely work have to try an put your finger through it just to get it to turn on. however if you have the benq drive lid be extremely careful pulling the magnet off the lid you do not want to break it or you'll be haveing to buy a new drive. so alot of cons just to make it look good an if thats what you care bout i recommend it.

worth the $$ January 24, 2010 J. Robidoux This is a great kit.... comes with everything you need to get your xbox apart without breaking any snaps or connections as well as torx and philips drivers to take out the necessary screws. Kit comes with no directions-- however the process to install isn't all that hard if you are good with electronics and building stuff. This was my first time taking an xbox apart and I did it in probably 20 minutes to tear down and get the initial fitment, but probably took 2-3 hours all together because I had to go back and refit some stuff due to fitment and noise issues.
Taking apart the DVD lid for the magnet was the hardest part IMO and getting the disc drive to spin without tons of noise is a real pain in the a$s, first because they include 2 different top pieces one for samsung drive one for Hitachi.... good luck figuring out which one to use-- I would say try both. I had to modify the case lid and use some super glue to get everything working 100% as it should be. The composite input and power input have some issues with fitment and I had to file down the power input area to make the wire fit. I use the HDMI wire which was fine, so I didn't bother fixing the component input overlap. The back of the case does not snap together fully which kind of annoys me however its not really a huge issue.
I would say a pretty novice person could do the install, but the clear DVD lid is going to be a real hassle for most people and more than likely you will leave your xbox unusable if you mess that up. the LED lights replace the DVD drive wires and are super simple to get inside. Take your time placing them to get maximum lighting effects with the case.
take your time doing the install and try to power up with the case off to insure everything is properly working before you put it back together to save yourself time.
Great Mod, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS October 9, 2009 Larry A. Vargas-ruiz (Baltimore, MD USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Received the case from the manufacturer and it had all the parts necessary for completing the mod....except the instructions. I highly recommend you do a google search for instructions before attempting. Also be advised the disk spinner thing will require that you "break" the lid of your current disk drive to get the magnet spinner out. Also once you have everything taken apart and install the disk drive make sure that it is working before putting the lid on. If you dont you might have positioned the magnet improperly and will get a scraping noise which will break your disk (use an old cd or blank cd before using your games. Furthermore, if you had put on the lids and then have to take it apart its a pain. I also had to sand the disk bay opening on the front plate to allow the disk to open (not a big deal). It took me about half an hour to complete with the sanding and testing. A word to the wise: If you are a parent buying this for your kid help them do the mod or you may end up with a 200 dollar paperweight. Dont let this review get you down the mod is beautiful and your xbox will look great.
Good Product With a Few Problems July 26, 2009 Schuyler Copeland 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
The Ghost Case is an awesome mod product that definitely give your 360 a unique look. It goes perfectly with my other mods (a lighted fan and wind tunnel). It does however have a few problems. First of all, the case does not precisely fit the console like the OEM case does. You really have to struggle both to get this thing on and off so I would definitely NOT recommend this to someone who has never taken apart their 360 before! Especially since it comes with no directions. I do not know the situation for the clear dvd lid for the other drives, but I have the Benq dvd drive and there are some problems. You have to almost permanently mangle your original dvd drive to take parts in order for the clear lid to work. After that is done you really need to take time to find the exact right placing for the lid, otherwise it will mess up discs and and not play correctly. Even after doing this I cannot play my 360 in the vertical position because the clear lid does not correctly hold the disc in place vertically. When horizontal I can occasionally hear a high pitched whirring telling me that the disc is scratching against the clear lid. Perhaps I need to open it up and correct the lid's positioning again. Another small problem is that the front faceplate does not position itself correctly over the power button so you have to push very hard to get the power button to work. This will get annoying if you use the power button frequently. There is also no button on the faceplate for the wireless sync button. Its just a hole, so you will need a screwdriver or something similar to reach in and push this button.
PROS:
-gives 360's a unique look
-made with thick high quality plastic
-nice and clear, gives you a great look at the inside of your console
-LED lights are simple to install
-comes with clear dvd lid so you can see the disc spin while you play
CONS:
-no instructions
-difficult to take case on and off due to its odd fit
-clear faceplate makes using power and wireless sync buttons annoyingly hard
-clear dvd lid for Benq drive requires you to mangle your dvd drive, its difficult to position, and makes playing the console vertically (with a spinning disc inside) near impossible without destroying the disc
OVERALL:
I would give this product 3.5 stars if I could. When all is said and done its a pretty awesome product and I love it. The difficulty of putting the case and dvd lid on was well worth it, but because of this I would only recommend it to those experienced in taking apart their 360.
